University of Perpetual Help

A Catholic oriented private institution, University of Perpetual Help corresponds to the programs in preschool, primary, secondary and tertiary levels as well as teaching certain vocational, technical and special programs. The co-educational center of the University of Perpetual Help System DALTA (UPHSD) has centers across Las Pinas, Bacoor Cavite, Calamba City, and Laguna in Philippines. The university is Catholic oriented University was established in the year 1975 and is a privately owned institution. The university consists of a total of 1500 academic staff and a total of 18500 students across all its campuses.

History

The University of Perpetual Help was founded by Antonio Laparel Tamayo and his wife Daisy Moran Tamayo. The university is generally involved in the teaching of theatre and related studies along with a strong emphasis on the sports and the promotion of various games like basketball, beach volleyball and volleyball.

The University has sporting affiliation in the form of the NCAA Philippines which is designated with the promotion of the athletes from the various campuses of the University of Perpetual help. The University is basically catholic based and so imbibes by the values of Christianity in all its campuses. The University of Perpetual Help DALTA has five campuses in Philippines offering the students with different courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

The various campuses of the University of Perpetual Help DALTA

There are five campuses in the aegis of the University of Perpetual Help located in Las Pinas, Bacoor Cavite, Calamba City, and Laguna in Philippines. The biggest out of all the campuses is the one at the Las Pinas.

It has a total of 12000 students with around 1500 teaching and non-teaching staff involved with it. The university offers more than 70 undergraduate courses and around 10 postgraduate courses in addition to providing primary and secondary academic offerings.

The campus also trains athletes for National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Philippines, helping young athletes to make a mark while representing the entire unit of DALTA.

The Molino Campus came into existence in the year 1995 and it currently holds around 4000 students. The university initially started with only 700 enrollees and since then has made it quite to a bigger number. The campus located at Calamba was established in the 1996, initially starting with 360 students and currently has 2500 students in its arcades.

The groups and happenings around the University of Perpetual Help DALTA

The university is equipped with performing arts groups that allow the students from various other universities to indulge in all the artistic activities going on currently in the fields of music, theatre, song and dance.

The University of Perpetual Help System DALTA Chorale formerly known as the UPHSD Singing Ensemble or the UPH Chorale is composed of the students and the artists from around the globe. It includes the folk dance troupe, theatre arts and perpetual dance company.

The University is known for its athletic associations and the fact that its faculty and the staff members can also participate in the athletic events of the 10 colleges affiliated with the NCAA.
